About David G. Lindquist, MD
Dr. David Lindquist is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Alpert Medical School at Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island. He works clinically in the emergency departments of Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, and Hasbro Children’s Hospital. He is the Director of Teamwork Training and Director of Faculty Development at the Lifespan Medical Simulation Center, Providence, RI.
He specializes in teaching multidiscipline Crew Resource Management (CRM) via medical simulation, to promote patient safety and minimize error arising from ineffective communications.
Blending didactics with high fidelity medical simulation and facilitated debriefing, Dr. Lindquist works with health care departmental leaders to present a modified TeamSTEPPS curriculum, tailored to a department’s specific, identified needs.
He has worked with Emergency Departments, Trauma Surgery, Labor and Delivery, Gynecologic Surgical Services, Antenatal Care Unit staff, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, and EMS personnel.
Dr. Lindquist works to incorporate CRM as taught via medical simulation into a broader program addressing communication behaviors within and between health care teams at all levels.
